Sunner Selected First Team Academic All-District

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Abbi Sunner of the Kansas State women's golf team was selected to the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII women's at-large first team on Thursday.

The at-large selections were nominated and voted on by sports information directors around the nation. Sunner will now be placed on a national ballot that will be voted on by the CoSIDA Academic All-American Committee for All-American honors.

This is the second time Sunner has been honored by the organization, being selected to the second team as a sophomore in 2008. Sunner was just one of eight out of 40 athletes to be honored with a perfect 4.0 GPA on the District VII listing. A recent graduate in life sciences, Sunner was also named to the Spring Chick-fil-A Community of Champions list in April for her excellence in leadership and involvement in the community.

Sunner ended her collegiate career after competing in all 11 events this season and owned a team leading stroke average of 77.00. She has also finished in the top-20 four times and the top-10 once.
