MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s golf coach Kristi Knight was elected to serve on the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Board of Directors as the Division I representative.

Knight, who just completed her 14th season as the head coach of the Wildcats, will begin a three-year term with the 2011-12 season. She was voted to serve on the board by NCAA Division I coaches in the NGCA.

“I am looking forward to working with the NGCA Board of Directors on issues within collegiate women’s golf and growing our association,” Knight said. “It is an honor being elected to represent Division I, and this will be a great a learning experience.”

In her 14 years as the head coach at K-State, Knight has guided teams to six tournament wins, 47 top-five finishes and 28 top-three finishes. Knight has seen four teams earn NCAA Regional bids, while the Wildcats have compiled 32 Academic All-Big 12 selections during her tenure.
