MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State golfers continue to play well during the summer months as Olivia Eliasson finished as the low amateur in a professional event in Sweden and Seth Smith won an amateur event in the St. Louis area.

Eliasson, a native of Bjarred, Sweden, tied for 10th overall at the St. Ibb Ladies Open as part of the Nordea Tour, a professional tour in Sweden. The senior-to-be carded a three-round score of 216 at St. Ibb Golf Club on the island of Ven as she was one of just five amateurs to make the 36-hole cut. Eliasson finished 10 shots back of winner Caroline Hedwall, a member of both the LPGA and Ladies European Tour.

Smith, a sophomore for the 2014-15 season, carded a winning score of even-par 144 to win the 11th East Side Amateur, an event held by the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association in St. Louis. At the par-72 Lockhaven Golf Club in Godfrey, Illinois, Smith carded a second-round score of 3-under par 69, which was four shots better than anyone else in the 75-player field. He was 6-under par after 11 holes and his 36-hole average of 72 was eight shots better than the field's combined stroke average.
