Quick's run at U.S. Pub Links ends in stroke play

LEXINGTON, Ky. Kansas State’s Kali Quick, a senior-to-be from Nampa, Idaho, was unable to survive the cut at the 2007 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship and was eliminated from the competition after the completion of stroke play on Tuesday at the par-72 Kearney Hill Golf Links.

Quick got off to a rough start at the championship on Monday with an opening round 85, but rebounded nicely during the second round, shaving 10 strokes off of her first-day performance to card a 3-over 75.

Unfortunately, it was not enough to advance on to match play as Quick missed the cut by seven strokes and finished the competition tied for 119th.

Quick and the Kansas State women’s golf team open their 2007-08 season on Monday, Sept. 10, at the Chip-N-Club Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
