Misenhelter Advances in U.S. Amateur Public Links

BANDON, Ore. – Kansas State women’s golfer Gianna Misenhelter has advanced to match play at the 35th U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

A sophomore-to-be, Misenhelter completed stroke play with a two-round score of 14-over par 156 to tie for 42nd. Following a 10-over par 81 in the first round on Monday, the Overland Park, Kan., product rebounded with a 4-over par 75 during the second round on Tuesday to finish just ahead of the 17-over par cut line.

Ranked 44th in the field of 64 for match play, Misenhelter will take on 21st-ranked Stephanie Kono of Honolulu, Hawaii, in the first round Wednesday morning. Kono tied for 19th during stroke play at 10-over par 152.

Match play at the 35th U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship continues through Saturday with a 36-hole final match. Live scoring can be followed at www.usga.org.
