Misenhelter, Pyle Advance in 2011 TRANS Amateur

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s golfers Gianna Misenhelter and Whitney Pyle both advanced to match play at the 2011 TRANS Amateur Championship on Wednesday at The Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheridan, Wyo.

Misenhelter, who captured the Kansas Women’s Amateur championship two weeks ago, will be the 36th seed during the match play championship of 64 competitors. The Overland Park, Kan., native shot a two-round score of 10-over par 154 (76-78), and she will take on 21st-seed Julie Yang in the first round at 9:30 a.m. (MT) on Thursday.

Pyle will be the 44th seed in match play after carding a 12-over par 156 (78-78). The junior will face 29th-seed Ashley Lance at 8:42 a.m. (MT) Thursday morning.
