BRANSON, Mo. - Kansas State women's golfers Emily and Elise Houtz teamed up with other Kansas women’s amateur players to claim the Amateur 4-State Tournament title held at Ledgestone Golf Course on Wednesday.

The contest was modeled to a Ryder Cup format that pitted the top college players and female amateurs from the states of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma against each other.

Emily and Elise went undefeated in their matches to contribute to Kansas’ winning score of 13.5, edging the Arkansas team that finished second at 12.5. Missouri was third with a score of 8.0, while Oklahoma finished fourth at 6.0.

The Wildcat seniors started their winning streak by teaming up in an alternate shot format and then later won their singles matches to start a combined 3-0.

Emily then paired up with KU golfer Jennifer Clark and Elise joined former Jayhawk Kristy Straub in a best ball format to each win their respected matches.

This was the first time Emily or Elise has competed in the event.

K-State’s fall season will begin September 14th at the Chip-N-Club Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
