Wildcats in Sixth After Day One

LINCOLN, Neb. Kansas State’s women’s golf team sits outside the top-five by one stroke at the Chip-N-Club Invitational at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course, after a 36-hole team score of 610 on Monday.

K-State came out of the gates and shot an opening 305 (+17) which put the Wildcats in a tie for fourth. The second round told the same story as they tallied another 305, putting them in sixth place after day one.

“We just could never get anything going today,” said head coach Kristi Knight. “There are some good things to build on and we have a chance to go out and have a low round tomorrow. I am proud of the girls’ effort today.”
