Wildcats Return to Action in Denver

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The 39th-ranked Kansas State women's golf team will travel to Denver, Colorado, to compete in the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 10-12, at Highlands Ranch Golf Course. The tournament will consist of single rounds of 18 holes all three days with tee times each day beginning at 8:30 a.m. (MT).

Six members of the K-State squad will be competing in the event with Connie Jaffrey, Carly Ragains, Madison Talley, Olivia Eliasson and Katherine Gravel-Coursol making up the scoring lineup. Scotland Preston will participate as an individual.

"The team is looking forward to getting back into competition this week in Denver," K-State head coach Kristi Knight said. "They have had the opportunity to rest, and we have had productive practice sessions over the last eight days."

In the Wildcats' third event of the season, the Johnie Imes Invitational, K-State was led by Jaffrey, who captured the 11th individual title in school history en route to Big 12 Golfer of the Month honors. The team finished second by shooting a 14-under 850, shattering the previous school tournament record of 874.

Kansas State, which will be competing in the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate for the first time, will be joined by 10 other teams, which includes Denver, Georgetown, Kansas, Long Beach State, Montana State, Nebraska, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Northern Arizona and Wyoming.
