Cats score season-low round at NMSU

LAS CRUCES, N.M. The Kansas State women’s golf team shot a season-best 306 second round today at NMSU.


Missouri holds the overall lead after the day two with their rounds of 302 and 292, just two strokes ahead of second place New Mexico State.


Junior Kali Quick leads the Wildcats. She finished the today with a score of 73, just one stroke shy of her career best.


Junior Michelle Regan carded a round of 77 to finish the day tied for tied for 24th.


Junior Hailey Mireles carded an 80 for today’s round to finish tied for 59th.


“We shot 306 today which is our team best this season,” said head coach Kristi Knight.  “Kali (Quick) was real solid start to finish, Michelle (Regan) struggled on the greens but hung in there with a 77, Helene (Robert) bounced back with a 76.


“I am proud of the effort, the team knows we left some shots out there. Our goal for tomorrow is to take advantage of our opportunities and be aggressive,” said coach Knight.


Kansas State will shoot one more round tomorrow.
