K-State to Finish Fall Campaign in South Carolina

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State women's golf team will look to close out a successful fall season on a high note as it travels to Kiawah Island, South Carolina, to compete in the Palmetto Intercollegiate, Sunday through Tuesday, Oct. 26-28, at the par-72, 5,972-yard Turtle Point Golf Course.

The tournament will consist of single rounds of 18 holes all three days with tee times each day beginning at 9:00 a.m. (ET).

Five members of the K-State squad will be competing in the event with Olivia Eliasson, Connie Jaffrey, Carly Ragains, Madison Talley and Katherine Gravel-Coursol making up the scoring line up.
 
"I know the team is ready to get back on the road with the challenge of the event and fun of competition," K-State head coach Kristi Knight said. "The team practiced very well this week."

In the Wildcats' previous event, the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, K-State captured its second team title of the fall by shooting a 13-over par 877. K-State was led by Eliasson, who picked up the first individual title of her career by carding a 3-under par 213. 

The Wildcats last competed in the Palmetto Intercollegiate in 2011 in which the team finished sixth. In the 2014 version, K-State will be joined by 20 other teams, which includes Campbell, Chattanooga, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Eastern Michigan, Elon, Furman, GRU Augusta, Georgia St., Jacksonville St., James Madison, Kansas, Maryland, South Florida, UNC Greensboro, Western Carolina and Xavier.
