Wildcats Fight Through Day One

Kiawah Island, S.C. The Kansas State women’s golf team finished the first day of the Edwin Watts Collegiate in 16th place. The Wildcats carded scores of 313 and 305 through two rounds.

 

Campbell University holds the overall lead after day one with rounds of 295 and 298 (+12) to finish the six strokes ahead of the second place East Tennessee State.

 

Senior Helene Robert shot rounds of 76 and 74 to finish tied for 19th place.

 

Junior Kali Quick carded scores of 76 and 77 to end the day tied for 40th.

 

Junior Hailey Mireles shot rounds of 79 and 78 to finish tied for 66th after day one.

 

The Wildcats will play one more round tomorrow, teeing off at 8 a.m. to finish the fall portion of their schedule. Results will be posted as soon as they become available. Live stats can be accessed on www.golfstat.com.

 

The first action for the cats in the spring slate of tournaments sends the Cats south of the border to play in the Baja Classic in Ensenada, Mexico on February 5th and 6th of 2007.
