Wildcats Ride Wave into Austin

MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State rowing team hopes to ride the wave of momentum after their strong showing against Alabama earlier this week, going into the Longhorn Invitational to take on a strong field. The Wildcats will compete in the three-day event on Lady Bird Lake looking to continue progressing before heading to the West Coast.

The Wildcats will meet crews from host Texas along with Central Florida, Duke, Iowa, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. The Badgers of Wisconsin closed the 2008 season ranked No. 13 in the nation.

The Longhorn Invitational is a 2,000-meter dual-style event. Each race will feature two opposing crews going head-to-head down the course at Lady Bird Lake.  K-State came up against some hard fought losses at the line in last year’s Longhorn Invitational, and the Wildcats look to forge ahead with improvements on those few-second margins.
