K-State Rowing Closes Regular Season

MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State rowing team hits the road again to take on some of the top crews in the nation at the Southern IRAs. The Wildcats look to ride momentum from winning the Kansas Cup last week into the event in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and continue pressing toward the Big 12 Championships.

K-State has seen success in a number of races at the Southern IRAs in previous years. Last season, the Wildcats finished first in the Second Varsity 8+ while winning both the Novice 4+ and Novice 8+ in 2007. K-State also claimed the First Varsity 8+ two years ago.

This will be the final regatta of the regular season for K-State before taking on the other Big 12 schools in the conference championship next weekend on Wyandotte County Lake. K-State will then set its eyes on the Central Regional hosted by Tennessee in Oak Ridge.
