MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Big 12 Conference announced 86 student-athletes were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team on Wednesday, and 22 of them were Kansas State Wildcats. The conference had eight rowers recognized with perfect 4.0 GPAs, and K-State tied with Oklahoma with three apiece.

With 22 honorees, K-State and Texas trail only Oklahoma’s 23 members of the Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team. Kansas had 19 student-athletes make the grade. There were 69 student-athletes named to the first team with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better, and 17 were named to the second team with a GPA of 3.00 to 3.19. The Wildcats had 19 rowers make the first team with three on the second.

Leading the way for K-State with perfect 4.0 GPAs were sophomores Elizabeth DeMars, Megan Murray and Abigail Weaver. Joining them on the first team was: Kaitlyn Arrow, Alyse Bronder, Nicole Burdiek, Weatherly Butler, Marissa Campbell, Korinn Card, Allison Dorau, Danielle Glynn, Lea Hauldren, Adria Ley, Lauren Schumaker, Jennifer Smisek, Myriah Smith, Nicole Suckey, Amanda Weishaar and Hanna Wiltfong. Juniors Abigail Harbour and Hayley Harvey joined senior Anna Young on the second team.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
