Jackson, Weishaar Named C-USA All-Academic

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Two Kansas State rowers were recognized for their work in the classroom and on the water being selected to the Conference USA Rowing All-Academic Team. Whitley Jackson and Amanda Weishaar were each voted to the team of 15 student-athletes voted on by the league’s sports information directors for women’s rowing.

Student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and be a significant contributor to their teams to be eligible for the award. All 15 student-athletes recognized this year hold GPAs of 3.7or better, with three maintaining a perfect 4.0.

Jackson is a senior coxswain for K-State’s 2nd Varsity 8 and has a 3.93 GPA in a triple major of biology, gerontology and Spanish. Weishaar is a junior on the 1st Varsity 8 majoring in mass communications and is one of the three members with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

The Wildcats close their season this weekend at the Conference USA Rowing Championship on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
