Nine Wildcats Named CRCA Scholar Athletes

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The academic honors keep coming in for the Kansas State rowing team with nine Wildcats being named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar Athletes. Last season, K-State had nine rowers make the list as well.

The group of Kaitlyn Arrow (business management), Christa Bowman (interior architecture), Weatherly Butler (economics), Sierra Cuda (interior architecture), Danielle Glynn (secondary education), Whitley Jackson (biology, Spanish, gerontology), Traci Smiley (nutrition, kinesiology), Amanda Weishaar (mass communications) and Hanna Wiltfong (mass communications) all received the honor. Butler, Cuda, Jackson and Weishaar all received the honor last season as well.

To be named a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete a student-athlete must hold a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher for her career through the fall semester of the current competition year. They must also meet all eligibility requirements by their respective institution and be in at least their second year of eligibility. The student-athlete must have participated in 75 percent of the team’s spring races or in a regional conference event and the team’s head coach must be a member in good standing with the CRCA.
