Haney Named to CRCA All-Region Second Team

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Madi Haney was named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) All-Region team, announced this past week. Named to the second team in Region 3, Haney was one of 20 student-athletes to be honored within her region.

For Haney, the All-Region nomination is the first of her career and she is the ninth Wildcat rower to earn the honor in program history. Competing as a member of the 1st Varsity 8 this season, Haney, most notably, was part of K-State's top boat that rowed to a runner-up finish in the San Diego Crew Classic Cal Cup Grand Final, gold at SIRAs and a bronze medal performance at the Big 12 Championship. Individually, Haney has excelled off the water, earning both Academic All-Big 12 first team and CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Her nomination marks the fifth-straight season K-State has had a rower named All-Region.

The CRCA recognizes outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains from each of the five regions. Nominated student-athletes are evaluated on the strength of their team's regional finish, coaches' recommendations and 2,000-meter erg scores. To be eligible, student-athletes must have competed on their team's varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season.
