Team House Dedicated at a Private Ceremony

A private dedication ceremony for the new Breidenthal Team House on the Tuttle Creek Reservoir was held on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006.

The Kansas State women’s rowing program, through the Boathouse Campaign, has raised the funds of $1.3 million for the new facility.  George Breidenthal of Kansas City, Kan. provided the lead gift for the project.

“It was a great opportunity to honor George for his generous support of our program.” said head coach Patrick Sweeney.  “This facility really enhances the day to day training experience of our team.”

President Jon Wefald, Athletic Director Tim Weiser and Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator Laura Tietjen attended the dedication ceremony along with Breidenthal.

The new facility includes a team locker room, shower and bathroom facilities, a large team meeting area, space for equipment storage, an on-site training room, coaching offices and a “Catbacker” food and beverage area for home and special events. Combined with the existing boathouse, the facilities total more than 10,000 square feet of space dedicated to the Kansas State University Women’s Rowing program.
