Wildcats to Face Top Competition in Iowa

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State rowing team concludes its fall season this weekend competing at the Head of the Iowa on Sunday. The Wildcats will be back in action for the first time in four weeks after the cancellation of the Sunflower Showdown and facing some of the top teams in the nation.

K-State will field three boats in the Varisty 8+ race and one in the Novice 8+ and face crews from nationally ranked programs. Host Iowa finished last season ranked No. 17 in the USRowing/CRCA Coaches Poll and will field three boats in the Varsity 8+ competition and two in the Novice race.

Wisconsin was ranked No. 16 in the final poll of last season and also brings a large number of boats to compete on Sunday. No. 20 Minnesota is the third ranked team in the field this weekend and will field multiple boats in the Varsity 8+, Novice 8+ and Varsity 4+ races. K-State is not slated to compete in the Varsity 4+ or Novice 4+ races.
