K-State Closes Out Action at the Georgia Invite

ATHENS, Ga. - Kansas State women's tennis wrapped up its final preparations for the spring dual season with the final morning of action at the Georgia Invitational. K-State registered one singles victory on the final day of competition at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

K-State victory came from sophomore Carmen Borau Ramos, as she defeated Diana Kyllmann of Indiana, 6-2, 6-1. Borau Ramos will enter the spring dual season with a 4-8 record and a career mark of 14-24.

Freshman Petra Niedermayerova had her three-match win streak halted, as she was set down by No. 91 Leslie Hureau of Indiana, 7-6 (5), 7-5. Niedermayerova will enter spring competition with a 5-5 record, including a 1-1 mark against ranked foes.

K-State will begin its spring duals schedule on Friday, Jan. 21 against New Mexico and Sunday, Jan. 23 against Drake. The Wildcats will host the Lobos and Bulldogs at Body First Tennis and Fitness Center, located at 3615 Claflin Road in Manhattan. Both matches are free to the public.
