MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State opened its double header on Saturday with a quick 4-0 win over UMKC at Body First Tennis and Fitness Center.

The Basics
• Score: Kansas State 4, UMKC 0
• Records: Kansas State (4-5), UMKC (3-5)

Doubles
• K-State secured the early 1-0 lead over the Kangaroos, by winning the doubles point with wins at number one and two doubles.
• The Wildcats’ top tandem of Palma Juhasz and Livia Cirnu dropped Maddie Schulte and Dimitra Stavrianakou, 6-0. Juhasz and Cirnu have now won three straight matches together and are 3-1 this season.
• At number two doubles, the duo of Maria Panaite and Iva Bago eased passed Allie Schulte and Amelie Amsallem, 6-0. This was the second straight win for Panaite and Bago. The duo improved their career record together to 3-5.

Singles
• K-State recorded wins at number one, two and three singles.
• Cirnu pushed K-State into a 2-0 lead, as she won her fourth straight match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Marina Albert. Cirnu is 11-7 this season and 27-24 in her career. She has won seven of her last 10 matches and is 5-2 this spring.
• Juhasz continued her momentum from her doubles win into her singles match and give K-State a 3-0 lead. Juhasz defeated Stavrianakou 6-2, 6-2 win over Stavrianakou at number one singles. This was Juhasz’s second straight win at number one singles. She is now 10-8 this season.
• Bago sealed the win for K-State, quickly defeating Rozell at number two singles, 6-2, 6-2. Bago won her second straight match and improved her season record to 12-6 overall and 5-3 in dual match play.
    
Noteworthy
• Kansas State is 2-10 against teams from the Western Athletic Conference.
• This was the second meeting in the series between the schools and the first since Jan. 21, 1995. K-State leads the series, 2-0.
