Wildcats Close Out Action in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, Wis. –
K-State sophomore Ana Gomez Aleman won her second singles match of the fall on Sunday, as the Wildcats concluded action at the 35th Annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic.

Gomez Aleman improved to 2-1 during the fall slate, as she swept past Paola Calderon of Marquette, 7-5, 6-3. The product of Murcia, Spain elevated her K-State career record to 13-23 and is now 7-19 in two-set matches.

A Wildcat was presented with a special honor as the event came to its conclusion on Sunday. Freshman Petra Niedermayerova received the Milwaukee Tennis Classic’s Mulcahy Sportsmanship Award. During the MTC, she was 1-1 in singles action and 2-1 in doubles play with sophomore Karla Bonacic.

Kansas State returns to the road next weekend, as the Wildcats will take part in the Hoosier Classic in Bloomington, Ind., on Sept. 24-26.
