HOUSTON, Texas –
Kansas State women’s tennis registered a strong afternoon on the second day of the Jason’s Deli Collegiate Invitational on Saturday on the Rice University campus. The Wildcats carded six singles wins and one doubles win.

Singles
• K-State’s six singles wins came from senior Amina St. Hill, sophomores Livia Cirnu, Palma Juhasz, Riley Nizzi, Maria Panaite and freshman Laura Hopton.
• Juhasz picked up her fourth straight win with a 6-4-, 6-2 decision over Sofiko Kadzhaya of TCU.
• Cirnu ended a two-match skid with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Seda Arantekin of TCU.
• For the second straight day, Panaite outlasted an opponent in three-sets with a 3-6, 6-1 10-8 win over Talisa Merchiers of Iowa State.
• St. Hill won for the fifth time in the last six matches with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Natalie Phippen of Iowa State.
• Hopton captured her second straight singles win with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Maria Lackey of Prairie View A&M.
• Nizzi halted a two-match skid with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Sydney Thomas of Prairie View A&M.

Doubles
• The pair of Cirnu and Hopton won their second straight match together on Saturday.
• The duo dropped Lackey and Thomas of Prairie View A&M, 8-4.

Noteworthy
• As a team, K-State is now 41-32 in singles action this fall and 12-18 in doubles.
• Juhasz is now 7-3 this fall and owns a 20-20 career singles record.
• Panaite is 5-5 this fall and 14-25 in her career.
• Hopton is 5-5 in her debut season with the Wildcats.
• St. Hill is now 41-45 in her career in singles and 5-4 this season.
• Cirnu is 5-4 this fall in doubles action and improves to 11-26 in her career. Hopton is 4-5 this season in doubles.
