Series History and Notes
K-State is 1-9 in the series with Arkansas... The Wildcats are 0-5 in matches played in Fayetteville... The last meeting between the schools came on Feb. 12, 2005, which was a 4-3 Arkansas win... K-State is 2-19 against teams from the SEC.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – With an opportunity to win the 250th match of his career this weekend, Kansas State head coach Steve Bietau takes his No. 46-ranked team to Fayetteville, Ark., on Feb. 4-5. The Wildcats will face North Texas on Feb. 4 and No. 24 Arkansas on Feb. 5, with both matches starting at 12 p.m. Follow @kstate_gameday on Twitter for updates of the weekend’s matches.

Bietau is in his 28th season with the Wildcats and is the career wins leader in the program’s history. He owns a career record of 249-326 following K-State’s performance in the ITA Kickoff Weekend on Jan. 28-29. The Wildcats split the weekend in Clemson, S.C., falling to No. 59 Purdue on Saturday, 4-1, but recovering to capture a 4-0 win over UNC-Wilmington on Sunday. The four matches K-State played in the month of January were the most since the 2000 season. K-State also went 2-2 during the month of January in 2000 on the way to a 14-9 overall record and a 7-4 Big 12 mark.

Pacing the Wildcats over the weekend was sophomore Petra Niedermayerova. The No. 17 player in the nation registered a pair of straight set wins to run her winning streak to three matches. This is her second 3-match winning streak this season, as she used three straight wins to advance to the semifinals of the ITA/Riviera All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif.,  on Oct. 6-9. For the season, Niedermayerova is 9-7 and is 7-3 in straight set matches.

Niedermayerova also paired with freshman Marketa Trousilova to secure a doubles’ point for the Wildcats against UNC-Wilmington. The No. 28 duo in the nation is now 5-2 this season which includes consecutive wins. Dating back to last season, K-State is 15-0 when winning the doubles point including a 2-0 mark this season.

Also pacing the Wildcats in the early stages of the season has been junior Karla Bonacic. The native of Split, Croatia, had her three-match winning streak halted in a hard-fought three-set loss on Jan. 28, but bounced back with a straight set win on Sunday. This season, Bonacic has won four of her last five outings and owns a record of 9-5 including a 9-3 mark in straight set matches.

Following K-State’s weekend at Arkansas, the Wildcats will travel to Tulsa, Okla., to face No. 22 Tulsa and No. 73 UT-Arlington on Feb. 10-11.
