Wildcats Host Saint Louis on Saturday

MANHATTAN, Kan. After opening the season with a 5-2 win over Syracuse, Kansas State women’s tennis returns to action this Saturday against Saint Louis. Match time in Ahearn Field House is set for 12 p.m.


The series with the Bilikens is tied at one apiece, with the two meetings occurring at neutral sites during the 1980-81 season.  


K-State (1-0) won its fourth straight season-opener last Saturday, as the Wildcats captured two of three doubles matches and four of six singles matches. Kansas State saw two players, freshman Vanessa Cottin and junior Katerina Kudlackova, recover from first set losses to win in three sets.


Saint Louis (0-1) opened its season on Jan. 30 at Missouri, falling 6-1 to the Tigers. The lone singles victory for the Bilikens came at the No. 2 position, as Hailee Elmore defeated Kaitlin Dunham in three sets. Elmore leads the squad in singles wins this season with a 6-3 mark.


Following the weekend’s match with the Bilikens, K-State will host Wichita State on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. in Ahearn Field House.
