Utah Sets Back K-State on Friday

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah Senior Olga Klimova captured the lone singles win for No. 68 Kansas State on Friday against No. 66 Utah, as the Utes defeated the Wildcats 6-1 at the Eccles Tennis Center.


Klimova, playing in the number six position in the lineup, captured her third singles win of the season with a 6-2, 2-6 (10-8) win over Karine Bourdages. The product of Brno, Czech Republic now owns a career record of 11-8 at the number six position in the lineup and is 30-40 for her career.


Utah captured the match with three straight set wins at the number one, two and four positions of singles. The Utes swept past the Wildcats in doubles plays, which is just the second time this season that K-State has lost all three doubles matches.


Kansas State will wrap up its four-match road trip on Saturday at No. 56 BYU. Match time in Provo, Utah is scheduled for 12 p.m. (MT).
