Wildcats Open Big 12 Play in Texas

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State women's tennis will travel to the state of Texas to begin action in the Big 12, as the Wildcats will face No. 32 Texas on Friday and Texas A&M on Sunday. This will be the first time since the 1998 season that K-State will open Big 12 action with the Longhorns and Aggies.

K-State (3-5, 0-0 Big 12) will look to end a three-match skid, as the Wildcats dropped a pair of matches in Tulsa on March 6-7. The Wildcats received a pair of singles wins from freshman Karla Bonacic in the two matches. The product of Split, Croatia, ended a personal five-match skid with a straight set wins at number six singles over Narine Kazarova of North Texas and Caroline Beaulieu of Tulsa.

In Big 12 Conference openers, the Wildcats are in the midst of a four-match downturn and will open conference competition on the road for the second straight season and the ninth time overall. The Wildcats are 6-7 in Big 12 openers.

Kansas State will conclude its five-match road trip on March 26 at Nebraska. The Wildcats return home to face Iowa State on March 28 at 1 p.m.
