Tennis has Mid-Week Make-Up with Cyclones

MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State Wildcats didn’t get the start to Big 12 Conference play that they were looking for. K-State’s March 2, opener at Iowa State was postponed due to a blizzard and the Wildcats have been snowed under in four Big 12 losses this season.

The Wildcats (2-11, 0-4 Big 12) hope to turn things around on Wednesday and look for their first conference win as they face the Cyclones at the Ames Racquet and Fitness Center in Ames, Iowa. Kansas State will also be attempting to snap a 10-match losing streak when play begins at 10:30 a.m.

Like Kansas State, Iowa State (5-6, 0-5) is looking for its first win in the conference after dropping five in a row. The Cyclones were defeated by Nebraska, 6-1, in their last action on Sunday.

Kansas State was narrowly defeated by Oklahoma, 4-3, on Saturday before dropping a 6-1 decision to No. 52 Oklahoma State on Sunday.

The Wildcats hold a 22-9 all-time series lead over the Cyclones and have taken 9 of 13 matches in Ames. Kansas State won its 12th-consecutive match against Iowa State, 7-0, last season in Manhattan.

The Wildcats will receive a visit from Texas Tech on Saturday in Manhattan and close the regular season with five of the next six matches at home.
