Wildcats Visit Oklahoma, Oklahoma State This Weekend

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kansas State women's tennis will continue its seven-match road trip this weekend in the state of Oklahoma, as the Wildcats face No. 29 Oklahoma on Friday and No. 9 Oklahoma State on Sunday. K-State's final four regular season matches will be contested against teams ranked among the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings.

Kansas State will face Oklahoma at 5 p.m., at the Headington Family Tennis Center. The Sooners lead the series, 26-13 including a 14-4 mark in matches played in Norman. K-State's last win against Oklahoma came on March 11, 2012.

Oklahoma is 11-7 overall this season, including a 1-6 mark in Big 12 action. The Sooners have dropped five straight matches since defeating New Mexico on March 8.

Kansas State will face Oklahoma State at 1 p.m., at the Greenwood Tennis Center. The Cowgirls lead the series, 35-6, including a 15-2 mark in matches played in Stillwater. K-State's last win against Oklahoma State came in Stillwater, a 4-3 decision on April 17, 2011.

Oklahoma State is 16-4 this season, including a 3-2 mark in Big 12 action. Last weekend, Oklahoma State defeated Oklahoma, 5-0, in Stillwater and have won four of their last five matches. The Cowgirls feature four players ranked among the top-125 singles rankings this week, led by number 18 Viktoriya Lushkova.

Kansas State (8-12, 1-4 Big 12) fell in their last outing, 4-0, at Kansas on Saturday, April 4. The defeat ended the Wildcats' six-match winning streak against the Jayhawks.

The Wildcats are led in singles play this season by sophomores Iva Bago and Palma Juhasz. Bago has a career-high 16 wins (16-11) including a 9-6 mark this spring. Bago has played in four of the five positions in the K-State singles lineup, which includes a 4-2 record at the number two position.

Juhasz has generated a career-best 16-11 record this season, including wins in eight of her last 11 completed singles matches. The native of Debrecen, Hungary, is 9-7 this spring including a 6-3 record at the number two position.

In doubles, K-State has been paced by the current top duo of Juhasz and freshman Carolina Costamagna. The tandem is 7-1 this season, including a current four-match winning streak.

As a doubles player in her career, Juhasz has a team-leading record of 31-20 including a 17-7 record this season with three different partners. In her last 12 completed doubles matches, Juhasz and her playing partner have come out on top 11 times.

Following this weekend's matches, Kansas State wraps up its regular season schedule with a Texas two-step. The Wildcats will face No. 36 Texas on Friday, April 17 in Austin and then will visit No. 7 Baylor in Waco on Sunday, April 19.
