The Wildcats (9-10, 3-6 Big 12) ended a four-match skid last weekend with a pair of 7-0 wins over Iowa State and West Virginia. The consecutive 7-0 wins last weekend marked the first consecutive 7-0 victories since Feb. 8 and Feb. 15, 2003, when K-State won at Wichita State and against Utah in Manhattan. It was the first time K-State has registered a perfect 7-0 weekend in Big 12 action since April 6-7, 2002 against Iowa State and Missouri.

This season, K-State has been led by junior Petra Niedermayerova and senior Karla Bonacic. Niedermayerova, ranked No. 14 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles rankings, owns a career-best 29-9 record this season and needs three singles victories this season to set the school record for singles wins in a season. The 2011 Big 12 Player of the Year and two-time All-Big 12 singles selection enters the Big 12 Championships with wins in eight of her last 11 singles matches.

Bonacic is 18-8 this season, including a spring mark of 14-5 and a team-best 7-2 record in Big 12 action. She has surpassed 15 or more singles wins in three straight seasons and has won nine of her last 11 singles matches.

During last weekend's matches, K-State's top doubles team of Bonacic and Niedermayerova ran their doubles record this season to 20-10 overall and 7-2 in the Big 12 with a pair of 8-1 wins. The No. 26 ITA ranked duo have won nine of their last 11 matches. The pair has combined to defeat four opponents ranked among the ITA top-30 this season. With one more doubles victory, Niedermayerova will set the school record for doubles victories in a single season.

K-State in the Big 12 Championships
The Wildcats enter this week's Big 12 Championships as a number seven seed, and will face West Virginia for the first time in the conference championships.

K-State is 10-16 in the Big 12 Championships and have reached the quarterfinals eight times, including a semifinal appearance during the 2000 season. As a number seven seed, K-State is 3-4 with previous appearances as the seventh seed coming in 2011.

Niedermayerova Rising in Career, Season Doubles Lists
Not only is Petra Niedermayerova ascending the K-State career and single season singles wins lists, Niedermayerova is beginning to climb the ranks of the doubles lists as well.

The junior from Brno, Czech Republic, has notched a career doubles record of 58-40 (.592) to rank ninth in school history. She is the fifth player in school history to rank among the career singles and doubles wins lists, including her doubles partner over the last two seasons, Karla Bonacic.

This season in doubles, Niedermayerova owns a mark of 25-11 (.694). The 25 victories are tied for first in school history for doubles wins in a season. Her winning percentage of .694 ranks sixth for a season. She has amassed her doubles record with just two playing partners this season, Bonacic and freshman Ivana Kubickova. Niedermayerova is ranked among the ITA top-50 with both partners, rolling up a 20-10 record with Bonacic (No. 26 ranking) and a 5-1 effort with Kubickova (No. 50 ranking).
