2010 Tennis Camp

Mission:

To help youngsters develop the skills and love of the game that will help them enjoy all the benefits of playing tennis for years to come.

About the Camps:
Success is nothing new for Steve Bietau, who has coached numerous NCAA qualifiers, Individual Big 12 Champions, and Nationally ranked players. Recently concluding his 26th season at the helm of the K-State tennis program, Bietau is the all-time wins leader in women's tennis history at Kansas State with 231 Dual Match victories, more than three times the number of his four predecessors combined. The continued success of his teams both on and off the court, show Bietau’s knowledge and commitment to the development of team members.

Coach Bietau will be joined at these camps by his assistant coach and former Wildcat, Olga Klimova. The four-year letterwinner was a top player and team captain for the Wildcats. She earned her degree in psychology from K-State and has been coaching at the Division I-level for two years.

To maintain a low student/teacher ratio, space in each session is limited.

QuickStart Camps
We are excited to be offering camps using the QuickStart Tennis Format for youngsters age 5-10 who are just starting the game.

QuickStart Tennis is a new format to help kids 10 & under learn and play the game. To make it easier for them, we changed a few things. The court sizes. The racquet sizes. The balls. The scoring system. Even the net height.

Now any child between the ages of five and 10 can start playing tennis almost immediately - even if he or she has never picked up a racquet before.

Like other popular youth sports, QuickStart stresses the importance of play and team competition. This means more kids will have the opportunity to experience this new format, have fun playiung with their friends and develop skills that will become the foundation of the their game.
