- Kansas State women's tennis will host a unique event at the K-State Tennis Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 17, called the USTA/ITA Campus Showdown. This is will be the fourth straight year K-State has hosted this event and it will be the first event held at K-State's new facility.

"I love the development opportunities the USTA/ITA Campus Showdown provides," said Kansas State head women's tennis coach Steve Bietau. "Everyone who participates benefits from playing outside the comfort zone of their regular routine. College players get some extra match play and juniors get a chance to test themselves in a college tennis environment."

The Campus Showdown is a one-day, short format tournament open to all female juniors, college players and adults. Singles players play up to four sets of singles using a round-robin draw. Set tiebreaks are played at 5-all in all matches.

The entry fee for the event is $10 for singles, $5 for doubles and $15 for both. To enter the event go to http://ksutennis.mycustomevent.com. These tournaments are non-sanctioned, non-ranking events. The K-State Tennis Center is located at the new outdoor facilities of the K-State Rec Center on the K-State campus.
