Cats Kick-off Fall Campaign at Razorback Classic

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. Kansas State women’s tennis started its fall schedule on Friday afternoon with singles and doubles action at the Razorback Classic.

 

The Wildcats tallied one singles victory on Friday, as junior Natasha Vieira outlasted Brittany Baldy of Oklahoma, 6-4, 3-1 (retired). Vieira, a product of Carabobo, Venezuela, improved her career record to 21-42.

 

In the only three-set match of the afternoon for the Wildcats, senior Katerina Kudlackova came up just short against Alex Kichoutkin of Tulsa, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

 

In doubles action, the Wildcats captured one win on Friday as the tandem of freshman Petra Chuda and Vieira defeated the Oklahoma pair of Baldy and Kristin Gray, 8-3, in the Flight B backdraw. The duo is now 1-1 after falling in the first round to Oklahoma’s Tara Eckel and Peta Maree Lancaster, 8-4.

 

K-State will continue action in the Razorback Classic at the Billingsley Tennis Center on Saturday with singles play.
