K-State Wraps Up Action at Hoosier Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. Kansas State endured a rough final day at the Hoosier Classic, as the Wildcats were unable to pick up a singles win at the IU Tennis Center.

 

Sophomore Antea Huljev and freshman Mariya Slupska each had their four match winning streaks halted at four. Huljev fell to Michelle Simmons of Purdue, 6-3, 6-4. Slupska lost in straight sets to Jennifer Rabot of Purdue.

 

Freshman Andrea Straznicka was the closest of K-State’s seven singles matches, as she dropped a hard-fought three-set match to Anna Dushkina of Purdue, 3-6, 6-4 1-0 (11-9).

 

K-State will have a week off before competing at either the ITA Regionals in Salt Lake City, Utah or the New Mexico Invitational in Albuquerque, NM.
