K-State's Run Ends in Quarterfinal Round

TULSA, Okla. K-State’s push for a bid into the ITA National Indoor Tournament ended Saturday as the Wildcats’ final doubles team was defeated in the quarterfinal round of the ITA Central Region Tournament.


Viviana Yrureta and Katerina Kudlackova were defeated by Arkansas’ Nanar Airepetian and Mayori Franco, 8-4, in the quarterfinal round at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, ending Kansas State’s run.


The Wildcats put together an impressive opening to the Central Region Tournament, winning nine matches in the first two days of competition, including getting every singles player and doubles team past the first round. Yrureta and Kudlackova were the last Wildcat team remaining in contention before Saturday’s loss.


Kansas State will conclude fall play at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational, Nov. 3-5.
