Manhattan, Kan. - The Kansas State women's volleyball team saw its losing streak fall to four matches on Wednesday evening, as the Wildcats dropped a 30-25, 30-16, 30-27 decision to No. 5 Nebraska before season-best 2,876 fans at Ahearn Field House.

With the win, Nebraska extended its winning streak to six matches and improved to 8-1 overall and 1-0 in the Big 12 Conference, while Kansas State saw its losing streak hit four matches for the first time since 1997 and fell to 4-5 on the season and 0-1 in the league. The Cornhuskers improved to 65-1 all-time against the Wildcats, including 29-0 at Ahearn Field House.

Nebraska totaled 47 kills on .287 hitting with eight service aces, 55 digs and 15 blocks, while Kansas State tallied 42 kills on .119 hitting with five aces, 55 digs and one block.

Senior outside hitter Jennifer Pollard was the lone Wildcats in double-digit kills with a team-high 13 on the evening, while junior outside hitter Cari Jensen and junior middle blocker Lauren Goehring each collected seven kills. Sophomore setter Gabby Guerre continued her double-double streak to four straight matches, as she registered 33 assists and 11 digs to go with six kills.

Junior outside hitter Anna Schrad led a pair of Cornhuskers in double-digit kills with 16 on the night on an impressive .405 hitting percentage, while senior outside hitter Laura Pilakowski added 10 kills on .333 hitting. Senior setter Greichaly Cepero had a double-double with 38 assists and 12 digs and senior middle blocker Amber Holmquist tallied a team-high 10 blocks to go with five kills.

Kansas State hits the road for the first time in Big 12 Conference play on Saturday, as the Wildcats travel to Waco, Texas to face Baylor at the Ferrell Center beginning at 2 p.m.
