Wildcat Volleyball Preps with Spring Tourneys

MANHATTAN, Kan. The NCAA Tournament-qualifying Wildcats will move on from their 2007 season, as Kansas State volleyball prepares for its 2008 season with a slate of spring tournaments around the country. The squad will make four stops beginning on April 5th and ending May 3rd before traveling to China at the end of May.

The Wildcats, who return All-American Nataly Korobkova for her senior campaign, will open the spring season in Wichita State on April 5th. K-State will compete against host Wichita State and Big 12 foe Oklahoma, both of which advanced to the 2007 NCAA Tournament.

The following week, K-State will travel to Houston, Texas, to take part in the third-annual Texas Tornados College Spring Tournament. Teams participating in the 24-program field include conference members Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M, as well as national champion Penn State and four additional NCAA qualifiers (New Mexico State, Texas State, USC, Wichita State).

On April 19th, K-State will take part in the Sports Performance Tournament in the Windy City of Chicago. The event will feature a number of top teams at the Great Lakes Center, which is home to the Great Lakes Volleyball Inc. and houses eight courts.

The final tournament before the team travels outside of the country to China will find the Wildcats on the West Coast. K-State will play at 2007 tournament-qualifier Santa Clara and face San Francisco, Cal Poly and the national runner-up Stanford.
