K-State Faces Nebraska in Grand Island

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Wrapping up its spring slate of scrimmages, the K-State volleyball team will head to Grand Island, Nebraska to take on former Big 12 rival, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Heartland Events Center.

The Wildcats, who have scrimmaged for the past four weeks from Kansas City to Indianola, Iowa, will face the Huskers for the first time since the 2011 NCAA Tournament Second Round when K-State beat Nebraska in five sets in Lincoln.

Grand Island is the hometown of rising redshirt junior, Katie Brand. The setter is one of nine returning letterwinners from last year's 22-win team that made the NCAA Tournament, the Wildcats' third trip to the postseason championship tournament in the last four years.
