Broadcast Schedule for World University Games Announced

MANHATTAN, Kan. – ESPN and BTI Events announced the broadcast schedule for the 2013 World University Games on Friday. Last week, ESPN announced it will provide more than 40 hours of live coverage on ESPNU with even more coverage online at ESPN3 and via the WatchESPN app.

The network will debut its coverage of the first World University Games to be broadcast in the United States with Saturday evening’s opening ceremonies on The opening ceremonies are slated from 12:30-5 p.m. CT. There is a nine-hour time difference between Russia and the central time zone.

The first event to be covered by the ESPN family will be the men’s volleyball match between USA and Estonia at 3 a.m. Sunday on ESPN3. Men’s waterpolo will be the first sport to receive coverage on ESPNU with the USA men’s match against Montenegro at 6:30 a.m.

At this time there are no women’s indoor volleyball matches slated for broadcast by ESPN. The broadcast schedule is subject to change.
