After a long two days of traveling through Detroit and Amsterdam, we’ve arrived in Russia! Throughout the trip, we have been stopped by many people interested in who we are and where we are going.  Last night, after landing in Moscow, we had time to explore. First we walked down the crowded streets of downtown Moscow just taking in the new culture.  We were able to get a few pictures with some of the Russian people who were interested in finding out more about us. Then we headed to the Kremlin and Red Square. From our Russian classes with Dr. Stone, we knew what to expect, but in reality, it was SO much more.  We were in awe of the amazing architecture and bright colors of St. Basil’s Cathedral. We ended our adventure tonight eating at a pizzeria right in the heart of downtown Moscow.  From there we rode the Metro back to our hotel next to Sheremetyevo Airport.  We only got a few hours of sleep, and then had a quick turnaround to get on a flight to Kazan early this morning. We are anxious to get to Kazan and see the village and the Universiade experience.
