K-State Incoming Freshman Earns Honor

MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State volleyball’s incoming freshman JuliAnne Chisholm was the named the Best Attacker at the recently completed 2007 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Chisholm captured the honor while playing for the USA Junior A2 team.  


The High Performance Program at USA Volleyball is the "pipeline" for young volleyball athletes who aspire to reach the elite level of their sport and who dream to one day represent the USA on the National Men’s or Women’s Volleyball Team.


Chisholm was a 2006 Kansas Class 3A State All-Tournament Team selection and a three-time unanimous selection to the All-Mid-Central Activities Association (MCAA) first team, while playing for Hillsboro High School. She finished the 2006 season with 381 kills on a .448 hitting percentage, 242 digs, 126 total blocks and 40 service aces in 38 matches and 80 games played.


Kansas State opens the 2007 season Aug. 24-25 at the Best Western Shocker Volleyball Classic in Wichita, Kan.
