Wildcats to Play Cyclones on ESPNU

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State volleyball team will make its ESPNU debut this season when the Wildcats travel to take on Big 12 rival Iowa State. The Big 12 Conference announced its national television schedule on Wednesday with four matches to be aired across the country on ESPNU and an additional match on FSN.

K-State’s match at Iowa State on November 14 will be televised on ESPNU with first serve at 5 p.m. from Hilton Coliseum.

Six of the league’s nine teams will be featured in the total of five national broadcasts, including four matches with the 2011 Big 12 champion Texas Longhorns. Five of the six teams featured made the NCAA Tournament a year ago and helped the Big 12 post the nation’s highest RPI.

Road matches for the Longhorns against Baylor (9/25), Oklahoma (10/28) and TCU (10/31) will be aired on ESPNU, and their home match against the Cyclones will appear on FSN (10/17).

The conference office could announce more television appearances for volleyball at a later date with the possibility for broadcasts for other Big 12 broadcast partners and institutional contracts.

K-State opens its season on August 24 when the Wildcats host UC Irvine at 7:30 p.m. at Ahearn Field House. Season tickets are currently on sale and single game tickets will be available beginning Monday.
