K-State Announces Volleyball Promotions

MANHATTAN, Kan. – With volleyball season fast approaching Kansas State Athletics has announced single game ticket and concessions promotions for the 13 home matches this upcoming season. Single game tickets will be on sale through the K-State Ticket Office beginning Friday at 8:30 a.m. Fans can purchase season or individual match tickets by calling 800-221-2287, visiting the Ticket Office at Bramlage Coliseum or online at www.kstatesports.com.

K-State’s first home volleyball match on Aug. 30 will serve as a launch party for the newly announced K-StateHD.TV and all general admission tickets will be available for just $1 for the match against NCAA Tournament team Creighton.

"We are looking forward to start of the fall season with our home-opening volleyball match against Creighton," said K-State Athletics Director John Currie. "As we debut K-StateHD.TV with our first live event in front of a global audience, we want Ahearn to be packed with purple. Our continued fan and community support have traditionally made Ahearn Field House one of the best volleyball atmospheres in the nation.”

Wildcat Weekend discounts are available for three home dates beginning with the Varney’s Kansas State Invitational on Sept. 2-3. Fans can receive a general admission ticket for just $3 on each day of the Varney’s Kansas State Invitational matches when they show their football ticket from the 3rd Annual K-State Family Reunion game on Sept. 3 against Eastern Kentucky. When –State takes on Texas A&M on Nov. 5, fans will receive $3 general admission tickets when they show their ticket from the men’s basketball exhibition against Fort Hays State (11/6), while a women’s basketball ticket to the Missouri State game (11/18) will earn the same discount for the Nov. 19 match against Texas Tech.

The Ticket Office is also offering 4 Packs for three home matches. The 4 Packs include a discounted bundle of four general admission tickets and four concession vouchers valid for a hot dog and small drink for just $40. The 4 Packs are being offered for the matches against Idaho (9/2), Baylor (9/24) and Oklahoma (11/9).

On Oct. 26 against Missouri selected candy items will be just $1 while K-State faculty and staff will have the opportunity to purchase general admission tickets for $3 each.

K-State’s final home match of the season against KU on Nov. 23 will be K-State Says Thanks night. Fans can purchase a general admission ticket for $3 with the donation of a nonperishable food item that will be given to the Flint Hills Bread Basket. That night will also feature $1 concessions for certain items.

“The continued fan and community support, have made Ahearn Field House one of the best volleyball atmospheres in the nation,” said K-State volleyball coach Suzie Fritz. “Our fans make Ahearn a great place to play.”

Last season, K-State fans packed Ahearn Field House for every match to rank 18th in the nation in attendance. Fans can get an early glimpse of this season’s squad in the annual Purple/White Scrimmage at Ahearn Field House on Saturday at 7 p.m. Ticket Office representatives will be on hand for fans interested in purchasing general admission season tickets.
