Head Coach Suzie Fritz
On preseason...
"We combated the lack of time in the preseason with our players' commitment during the summer. We are not starting all over when we step back into the gym and in this particular year with everybody back we are not starting all over in the preseason. I think that the effort and the time that they put in June and July has allowed to feel that all we have to do is tighten the bolts during the preseason. We wanted to keep them healthy and just get them through two-a-days and accomplish what we needed to do without wearing them out before we really start playing. Our last day of two-a-days was yesterday so I think that they are happy about that."

On returning an experience squad...
"When players are younger, they need more reps, opportunities and time. We have individuals that still need that to be able to develop their skills. Part of getting better is having the opportunity to do so but with this team they are past that as a collective effort. We talked about not so much the quantity of the repetitions or the opportunities but more the quality of them. For example if we are passing balls we want to pass 20 of them great and be really mindful in terms of our technique and our performance instead of 200 balls and that is just where we are at developmentally with them right now but we still have a lot of room to grow."

On building on last year's success...
"For me it all starts over. I know that we have everybody back but that just presents a new set of challenges and that is how we have to approach it. We are working hard to try and solve those. The problems get less but they become more detailed but they are all fun to solve. Our team is at a certain level and they have certain expectations so now it is about going from good to great and that is what we spend a great majority of our time talking about as a staff and to our players."

Senior Caitlyn Donahue, senior, setter
On her thoughts heading into her senior year...
"It is just super exciting. I am really excited for my last year. I have a great group of seniors surrounding me, as well as a great group of teammates and coaches and I am just really excited to build on last year. It really has not hit me yet that this is my last year; I do not feel older or anything like that. I just know that I am really excited for it."

On building off of last year's success.....
"It is very exciting for us. We are ready to build on what we did last year. I think we had a tremendous season and we proved a lot of people wrong. We got back in the gym this summer and we worked really hard. This summer we have not spent as much time reviewing things, we have done a lot more building off of what we have done. We are ready to have another great season."

On past teams that pulled from behind.....
"We just take it one day at a time; that is kind of our thing. We get in the gym and work hard one day at a time and we set daily goals and daily objectives and we work towards those and try to achieve those on a daily basis and try to not look too far into the future. Because there are little things that we need to take care on our side of the net until we can really start worrying about opponents in the season and in Big 12 play, we are just focusing on things that we can get better at."

Kaitlynn Pelger, junior, middle blocker
On expectations...
"We come in and it is a new practice every day and a new season every season. We come in and we want to get better every day. It is great that we know each other and we have great chemistry. We are super excited about what we have back and we build off of that every day."

On returning most of last year's team...
"I think that we are still comfortable with each other and we have great chemistry. We are all friends on and off of the court. We still have things that we need to work on. We are coming in every day and working on new things. We are a completely different team from last year even though we have everyone back so we are still working hard."
