Chipman Named Big 12 Player of the Week

MANHATTAN, Kan. Middle blocker Kelsey Chipman earned her first all-tournament selection of the season at the Nike Portland Invitational and backed it up Monday being selected the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. This is her first Big 12 Player of the Week award.

 

Chipman led No. 20 Kansas State to a 4-0 week and the Nike Portland Invitational title. She tallied 35 kills without any errors in 14 sets, while compiling a .515 hitting percentage which was second in the Big 12 last week. The junior also produced 3.43 points, 1.43 digs and 1.29 blocks per set. In the tournament finale against South Florida, she had two service aces late in the fourth and final set to hold off the Bulls for the victory.

 

Missouri’s Caitly Vann was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week while Sydney Anderson from Nebraska earned Rookie of the Week honors for the second straight week.
