K-State will look to bounce back from a straight-sets loss at Iowa State when it travels to Oklahoma to take on the Sooners in a Big 12 match on Saturday, October 12. The 7 pm match between the Wildcats and Sooners will be the first meeting between the two schools this season.

Both K-State and Oklahoma enter Saturday following losses. The Sooners were swept by Kansas in Lawrence this past Wednesday.

K-State, which had a .091 hitting percentage against Iowa State and a .134 clip against Big 12 opponents this season, will look to get past the Oklahoma defense. The Sooners are allowing their Big 12 opponents to hit at a .274 clip - the second-highest in the conference.

The Wildcats' defense, meanwhile, is holding its conference opponents to a .188 hitting percentage and averaging 2.63 blocks per set - tied for the second-best mark in the Big 12. K-State has nine or more team blocks in 10 straight matches.

Oklahoma is also the second-straight opponent and third in the last four matches that, just like the Wildcats, received votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Sooners received 79 points in this past Monday's poll before the loss to Kansas, which would have put Oklahoma just on the outside of the Top 25. This season, K-State has one win - against then-#23 Cal on Sept. 14 - in three chances against teams that are either ranked or received votes.

K-State has not won at Oklahoma since 2008 as the Sooners have four-straight wins against the Wildcats in Norman, Okla. and seven wins in the last eight meetings overall. Under head coach Suzie Fritz, the Wildcats are 13-11 against the Sooners since 2001.
