Three Wildcats Named Academic All-District

MANHATTAN, Kan. While the Kansas State Wildcats continue to succeed on the volleyball court, three student-athletes have been recognized for their hard work in the classroom as well. Jenny Jantsch, Kelsey Chipman and Megan Farr have all been named CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District.

The trio was selected for the All-District VII team with Jantsch receiving second team honors. Farr and Chipman each were named to the third team.

Jantsch has been a constant contributor to the team on the court this season with three double-doubles and a team-high 31 aces. She has climbed up the career rankings her senior year to sixth all-time in aces. In the classroom, Jantsch has accumulated a perfect 4.0 GPA in pursuit of her master’s degree in accounting. She posted a 3.96 GPA getting her bachelor’s degree in accounting as well. This adds to Jantsch’s already impressive academic achievements after being named Academic All-Big 12 three times.

Farr receives her first academic all-district award as well with a 3.56 GPA in earning her degree in counseling and student development. She also has a perfect 4.0 GPA in her postgraduate work. This season Farr leads the team in blocks averaging 1.22 per set. She also has the highest hitting percentage on the team and is on pace to finish her career with the highest career percentage in school history. Farr also is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection.

Chipman was named to the academic all-district team after posting a 3.88 GPA in life science/pre-med as a junior. She is second on the team in blocks this season and is already among the top 10 in school history. This year she has posted five or more blocks in nine matches and hit .300 or higher in over half the team’s matches. She also earned first team Academic All-Big 12 last year.
