MANHATTAN, Kan. – Senior outside hitter JuliAnne Chisholm added another academic honor to her shelf on Tuesday as she was named to the ESPN Academic All-America Second Team. This marks her second Academic All-America certificate as she was named to the third team last season recognizing her athletic and academic achievements.

Chisholm holds a cumulative 3.97 GPA double-majoring in athletic training/pre-med and life sciences with a secondary major in gerontology. She was eligible for the Academic All-America Team by being voted to the ESPN Academic All-District VII First Team. Chisholm is one of just two Big 12 Conference student-athletes to make the list this season again joined by Oklahoma’s Suzy Boulavsky on the third team.

This award makes Chisholm the second back-to-back Academic All-American in school history joining Cari Jensen from 2002 and 2003. Three student-athletes in school history have now combined for a total of five Academic All-America awards with Jennifer Koehn being selected to the third team in 1982.

With her second Academic All-America selection Chisholm adds to her impressive list of academic achievements throughout her career at K-State and boosts the reputation the department has across the board in terms of student-athlete performance in the classroom as a whole as K-State has the highest graduation rate in the Big 12 for all sports combined for a fourth straight year.

This season the volleyball team had five players named Academic All-Big 12 with four on the first team and two named ESPN Academic All-District with Lauren Mathewson earning third team honors.
