MANHATTAN, Kan. - K-State volleyball senior Kaitlynn Pelger was named an AVCA All-Midwest Region Honorable Mention, the organization announced.

Pelger, a rare middle blocker who played all six rotations, was the only player to rank among the Big 12's top 10 for each kills, blocks and aces per set this season. The senior averaged 3.07 kills (10th in the Big 12), 0.35 aces (3rd) and 1.07 blocks (9th). Her 0.35 aces per set were 10th most among middle blockers in NCAA Division I. Throughout her career, Pelger has garnered many accolades, including AVCA All-America Honorable Mention (2011, 2012), Volleyball Magazine All-America Third Team (2011), All-Big 12 First Team (2011, 2012, 2013), Big 12 All-Freshman Team (2010), Academic All-Big 12 First Team (2013), AVCA National Player of the Week (Sept. 18, 2012) and Big 12 Player of the Week (school-record eight times).

A native of Olathe, Kan., Pelger was named to the AVCA All-Central District Team in 2011 and 2012. The AVCA reassigned its regions starting this season.

Pelger was one of 19 Big 12 players across two different regions to be represented on the All-Region teams.

Each of the AVCA's 10 All-Region teams features 14 selections and six honorable mentions.
